About Krista

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” –Viktor Frankl

About Krista Bordeleau

Krista S. Bordeleau, MA Ed., BCBA, LBA, PN1-NC, PN1-SSRC, brings more than 20 years of experience in human services to her work. As an education specialist, Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst, Licensed Behavior Analyst, and Certified Nutritionist & Sleep/Stress Management/Recovery Coach, she has thoughtfully combined her broad expertise to develop her distinctive Thriving Lives practice.

Krista taught in the Hartford Public Schools after receiving her master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Connecticut. Working with students experiencing significant emotional and behavioral challenges inspired Krista to study the science of Applied Behavioral Analysis to support the positive growth of the young people she served.

From 2006 through 2014, Krista specialized in autism spectrum disorders, working with children of all ages. She completed the rigorous coursework, supervised field work, and examinations to become a BCBA in 2008, and an LBA shortly afterward. As the Clinical Director of an Early Intervention program she applied her work in Organizational Behavior Management, guiding other professionals on their personal and professional journeys.

From 2014 into 2022, Krista was the owner and fulltime director of First Leaps Together, a private preschool focusing on general early education as well as inclusive specialized support services. Her school was known not only for its educational strengths but its focus on the social-emotional experience of each child including those experiencing developmental and behavioral challenges.

Krista's deep commitment to serving children and adults in a more holistic manner inspired her to master Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and to delve into health, fitness, and wellbeing promotion. In 2024, she advanced her expertise with additional graduate-level training through Precision Nutrition, earning certifications as a Nutritionist and a Sleep, Stress Management, and Recovery Coach. Now fully dedicated to her private practice, Krista pours her heart into offering holistic behavioral guidance to individuals and families, wholeheartedly supporting the mission of Thriving Lives.

My Personal Story

My greatest joy is my family; my husband and I are working hard each day to raise two kind and capable daughters. We try to remain focused on our values, see joy and strength in others, and accept and learn from our challenges as they arise.

I seek meditation and mindfulness through exploring nature, the outdoors is my happy place. I also love coaching softball, helping a group of girls learn how to work hard together.

My passion is helping people of all ages see the power of a growth mindset, and that challenge is an opportunity for personal growth. My clients are not alone, over the years I have identified my own evolving strengths and am keenly self-aware of my own challenges in moving towards my most fulfilling and joyful life.

Compassion is at the core of everything Thriving Lives offers; each of my clients is seen for who they are, and I strive to help them identify and reach their own, unique, growth goals.

I look forward to meeting you soon and becoming a supportive part of your journey.
